Careers | Now Hiring Shuttle Drivers in Tacoma | Tacoma Shuttle
Quick Answer

Is Tacoma Shuttle hiring?

Yes. Tacoma Shuttle is actively hiring for three positions in 2026: Professional Chauffeur / Shuttle Driver (full-time and part-time, $22–$32/hr plus tips), CDL Coach Bus Driver (charter-based, $28–$42/hr), and Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative (24/7 shifts, $20–$28/hr). All positions are based in Tacoma, WA serving Pierce County and South King County. Most driving roles require only a standard Washington driver's license and clean driving record — a CDL is required only for coach bus positions. To apply, email support@tacomashuttle.com with your driving record and brief experience summary, or call (253) 666-6560 during business hours. Application response time is typically 1 to 3 business days.

Why work here

What's different about driving for us.

We've been around for a decade and we know what drivers actually care about. None of this is corporate happy-talk — these are the things our chauffeurs say keep them here.

Local routes only.

You drive home every night. No overnight trips, no out-of-state runs, no week-long charters. Tacoma to SeaTac and back is the longest route most days.

Real humans on dispatch.

If something goes wrong on the road, the person who answers your call is sitting in our Tacoma office — not a routed call center. They know you, the route, and how to fix it.

Flat-rate pricing = flat tips.

Our customers know what they're paying upfront, so tips reflect service quality not surprise outrage. Average tips are higher than rideshare or surge-pricing models.

Modern fleet.

Newer vehicles, properly maintained, with regular replacement cycles. You won't be diagnosing engine noises at 4 AM in Lakewood. The cars start, the AC works, the seats don't smell.

Flexible scheduling.

Full-time, part-time, weekends-only, mornings-only — we have customers across every time slot, so we can build a schedule around your life. School pickup at 3 PM? Got it.

You're not a gig worker.

You're a Tacoma Shuttle chauffeur. You wear our shirt, drive our vehicles, represent our brand. Repeat customers know your name. That matters — and it pays better than gig-app driving.

Careers FAQ

What candidates ask first.

Common questions during the hiring process. More questions? Email support@tacomashuttle.com.

Is Tacoma Shuttle currently hiring? +
Yes. As of January 2026 we are actively hiring for three positions: Professional Chauffeur / Shuttle Driver, CDL Coach Bus Driver, and Dispatcher / Customer Service. All positions are based in Tacoma, WA.
What are the pay ranges? +
Sedan, SUV, and van chauffeurs earn $22–$32/hr plus tips. CDL coach drivers earn $28–$42/hr. Dispatchers earn $20–$28/hr plus performance bonuses. Pay is determined by experience, schedule (peak hours pay more), and performance metrics.
    Do I need a CDL? +
No, not for most positions. Sedan, SUV, and passenger van (up to 14 passengers) require only a standard Washington State driver's license with a clean record. A CDL Class B with passenger and air-brake endorsements is only required for our 25-to-55 passenger coach bus positions.
    What's the schedule like? +
Highly flexible. We have customers across every time slot — early-morning airport runs, daytime corporate transfers, evening events, late-night cruise pickups, weekend weddings. Full-time, part-time, weekends-only, mornings-only — we build the schedule around your availability.
Do you provide vehicles or do I drive my own? +
We provide all vehicles. You drive a Tacoma Shuttle vehicle, in a Tacoma Shuttle uniform, on Tacoma Shuttle dispatch. This is not a gig-app driving job where you provide your own car. You're a chauffeur, not a contractor.
How long does the hiring process take? +
Typically 2 to 3 weeks total: 1–3 days for application response, 1 week for phone screen and in-person interview, 3–5 days for background check, then paid ride-along training before your regular schedule starts.
Do you hire part-time only? +
Yes — many of our drivers are part-time. We have plenty of room for part-time chauffeurs who can do airport runs in early mornings, evening event work, or weekend weddings. Just be clear about availability when you apply and we'll build a fitting schedule.
What benefits do you offer? +
Pay, tips, flexible scheduling, paid training, modern vehicles, and supportive local dispatch. We can discuss benefits packages for full-time positions during the interview process based on your specific needs.
Can I apply if I'm new to Tacoma? +
Yes, but Tacoma area familiarity is a strong plus — especially knowing routes between Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup, Gig Harbor, JBLM, and SeaTac. If you're new, we look closely at your driving record and ability to learn quickly. Strong GPS skills help.
