"Tacoma shuttle" means about six different things — a light rail line that doesn't go to the airport, a commuter train that only runs on weekdays, an express bus, a hotel van, a rideshare app, and us. Here's what each one actually does, what it costs, and which one you should be booking. Including the times when it isn't us.
Tacoma Shuttle & Airport Transportation is a private ground transportation company based in Tacoma, Washington, operating since 2015. It runs door-to-door private transfers to SeaTac Airport and Seattle's cruise piers, plus black car service, wedding and event shuttles, corporate and commuter transport, group charters, and day trips. All vehicles are private — every booking reserves the entire vehicle for one party, with no other passengers and no extra stops. The company has never operated shared or pooled rides. It is rated 4.9 out of 5 from 287+ riders and dispatches 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The name is also a generic phrase, and that's where it gets confusing. In Tacoma, "shuttle" can mean the T Line light rail (which runs four miles downtown and does not go to the airport), Sounder commuter rail to Seattle, Sound Transit Express bus 574 to SeaTac, Pierce Transit local buses, a hotel guest van, or a rideshare. They are not interchangeable, and picking the wrong one before a 6 AM flight is a genuinely bad morning.
This page lays out all of them honestly — including the cases where transit is the better call.
Only one of these is us. All six are on this table, because sending you to the wrong one helps nobody — and because at least one of them is genuinely a better choice for some trips.

Tacoma Shuttle & Airport Transportation started in 2015 with a single premise that hasn't changed: when you book a vehicle, that vehicle carries you and nobody else. We have never run a shared ride, a pooled van, or a scheduled loop that collects strangers along the way — and we're not going to start.
That sounds like marketing until you've stood in a driveway at 4:40 AM watching a shared van do its third pickup across town while your boarding window closes. The whole business is built around removing that specific experience from your morning.
Practically, it means: rates quoted per vehicle, not per seat. Prices calculated from your actual address and locked at booking — no surge, no holiday premium, no 4 AM surcharge. Licensed, insured, background-checked chauffeurs who live here and know which lane of I-5 closes at which exit. Flight tracking on every airport booking, so a delay costs you nothing. And a real person on the phone at 3 AM.
Ten services, a five-vehicle fleet from sedan to 55-seat coach, and a 4.9-star average from more than 287 riders across Pierce County and South King County.
Commercially licensed, fully insured, background-checked chauffeurs.
Every day of the year, all major holidays. No off-hours surcharge.
Never a shared ride. Not in 2015, not now.
Quoted before you book. Doesn't move afterwards. Ever.
Every rate is for the whole vehicle. Divide by your party size and the per-person cost collapses — which is precisely why private beats shared for most groups.
